Artists

Tradwife Stringband

Tradwife is an old time quintet made of Doreen Ditties on banjo, Muffins Debrief on fiddle, Mrs. Mandy Lynn on mandolin, Madge [Last name redacted] on bass fiddle, and Moose [just Moose] on guitar. Get ready to dance, sing, recite bible verses, and pray along with the best stringband choice feminism has to offer!

Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters

With what PopMatters describes as "tenacious swagger," critically-acclaimed solo artist Ashleigh Flynn recently dialed up the volume and debuted an all-female rock band as a nod to the “Rosie the Riveter” archetype from WWII.

Flynn grew up in Kentucky and cut her teeth on local bluegrass music and Motown. A prolific songwriter and performer blessed with unbridled charisma, she arrived on the Americana scene in 2008 with the release of her third LP, American Dream, a poetic lament to the elusiveness of that national ethos. A Million Stars followed in 2013 – a rollicking journey celebrating the women pioneers of the American West.

Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters’ inaugural LP hit the streets in 2018 featuring a sound that hearkens back to early Stones, ‘70s psychedelic country rock, and alternately charms like a Sunday afternoon front porch session...

Juliet and the East

A self-titled “queer storytelling rock cabaret”, Juliet and the East (JATE) has been making a splash in the Portland music scene since spring 2023. With their music spanning from country to punk to math to prog, JATE tells stories experienced by many in the queer community through a whimsical lens. The project is led by bassist and singer Juliet Terrill, whose virtuosic bass playing rivals her clever and poignant lyrics for center stage. Having formerly toured internationally with renowned soul group The Suffers, Juliet is now joined in JATE by Kynwyn Sterling on drums (Heirloom, Curling), Isabel Dammann on fiddle (Sprig of That, Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters), JonLuc Hefferman on keys (LDY BTTRFLY, Eugene Hatman, Bill Quadrillion) and Joseph Mammarella (self-titled solo project) on guitar. Catch JATE around Portland this summer playing at various Pride events, and keep up with shows, new releases, and limitless bass shreddage on their Instagram.

Madam Cooper

Madam Cooper is a recording artist and cabaret sensation. Born and raised on a farm in rural Oregon, she holds a degree in Theatrical Production from Portland State University. She spent a decade in Nashville producing her own records, music videos and sold out residencies. She is infamous for riding a white stallion down Broadway in that city wearing nothing but her cowboy boots. Known as the Rodeo Queen of Nashville Burlesque and as a darling of Portland’s independent music scene, you can find her on stages throughout the country leading her band, hosting famous cabaret shows, popping up peepshows, titillating the prudes and pissing off fascists.

Shandi Evans

Hi everyone, I’m Shandi Evans. I’m a big sparkly bitch who likes to fake sing along to songs, take my clothes off, and salute my queer ancestors before taking shots in their names. The Cowboy Cabaret is a perfect place for you to watch me do all three of these things, and even more! Pride weekend is the one time I go all out, as I am hibernating in a log at Rooster Rock the rest of the year, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to see the Borat of drag, Shandi Evans
