Tombstone Shadows
Best CCR Tribute band in the PNW!
At least that's what we've been called.
Our founder, Bob is a self-taught musician from Illinois who has worked with Tom and Steve Gerlach from Phantom Helmsmen...Lou Zagoras from Rollover and Ned Neltner from Jr Cadillac. He has 50 years of experience playing music. He has played in bands in Hawaii, Seattle, Chicago and now Portland.
Our singer, Steve hails from the foothills of Georgia and received a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition in Charleston, South Carolina. After moving to Portland, OR in 2009, he joined the progressive bluegrass group Scratchdog Stringband. The group toured much of the US, released three studio albums, and in 2018 were sent to Russia under the wing of the US State Department to tour as Envoys for Cultural Exchange. The group folded during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Steve would go on to work with myriad new projects. In addition to his work with The Tombstone Shadows, Steve performs as front man for Horror Rock legends Hideous Monster, Upright Bass for the Indie-Folk group Noah Kite, Electric Bass for the prog-metal Kitty Kat Boys, and performs his own brand of original and traditional folk and blues.
Our drummer, Clark traveled the continental states and South America as a teen drummer. In his early adult life, he drummed for a power-pop house band in Minneapolis, influenced by artists like Squeeze and REM. After a break with the US Peace Corps in Africa, he moved to Portland, playing with various local bands over 20 years. Recently, he's focused on writing and recording solo albums and leading a band project.
Anthony, the bassist is an experienced multi-instrumentalist who grew up in the LA area. His influences include Stanley Clark and Leland Sklar.
