The Barbaras

The Barbaras cover much musical ground: surf, country, doo wop, western swing, and rock n roll. Call it what you want but call it the Barbaras. It’s American music after all, in the best sense of the word.

The Ford sisters offer contemporary insights on age old subjects with humor, honesty and a little bit of heartache. They recorded their latest album “Rollercoasters” to tape featuring Mark Robertson’s signature blend of high fidelity and rounded tube sounds at Littlepage recording in Corbett, OR. Robertson also holds the bass steady alongside the drumming of Buddy Weeks (Jenny Don’t and the Spurs) and Haven Multz Matthews (Silver Triplets.) Jeff Munger (Floating Easements,The Sound Outside) lends his guitar sass to the project and James Owen Greenan(The Cedar Shakes) keeps it classic on steel guitar. The band practiced more collaborative songwriting with the help of Bob Reynolds (Melody Makers), who also plays percussion across the tracks.

The Barbaras are accepting of all comers and rounders. Fresh perspectives on themes we all share and know. Some come on now, have a listen and you decide. We can talk about it later….

Jesco Payne & The Painkillers

Raised in the mountains of Southeast Kentucky, Jesco Payne grew up with a soundtrack of punk rock, outlaw country, pentecostal hymns, and honky tonk. Now settled in the mighty Pacific Northwest, Jesco takes influence from his Appalachian roots to sing songs that long for home, mourn lost love and glamorize the occasional rough and rowdy time. Jesco Payne & The Painkillers deliver cathartic country music that pays homage to the pioneers of honky tonk and outlaw country.
